I presented a poster at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research on Thursday, which this year happened to be at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah (about an hour away.)
My presentation was titled "Patterns of species richness in human infectious diseases." It's part of a project I started this summer as part of an REU with Ethan White. This project has been a great experience because I carried it through the entire lifecycle from developing an idea to presenting the results, and had to deal with issues like acquiring data and coming up with good questions.
NCUR was somewhat of an unusual venue to present in for two reasons. One, people at the conference were not generally biologists; two, they had a graduate school fair at the same time and in the same room, so it kind of felt like we were being advertised to. "Hey, great poster - have you considered getting an MBA from Weber State?"
